Umarov opens up another world for our eyes – a world of colour, character, pathos and humour.

One of Uzbekistan’s leading artists, he lives in works Tashkent, drawing on the rich traditions and folk memories of the Turkic states of Central Asia, but fixes them with an altogether contemporary freshness.

Karen Nicol will be displaying a vast array of over 20 incredible new works at The Marylebone Hotel – Private View, Tuesday 7 February, 6.30 – 8.30pm. Make sure to come along and be amazed by Karen’s work!

Scotland is a land steeped in legend and lore. Within the intertwined stories of olden times, whiskey holds a key place – Colin Hampden-White has gained exclusive access to not only some of the greatest distilleries in Scotland but also their Cheiftains – the master distillers. At each one, the figurehead of the distillery uses his finely-honed skills to create a unique single malt whiskey of breath-taking quality.

A bar was set up by Diageo with the various (very fine) whiskies from the distilleries across Scotland, all visited by Colin. Visitors were encouraged to taste the correlating whiskey to the photographs adorning the gallery walls.

The London Art Fair began last night at the Business Design Centre up in Islington.

Monday 9 January saw the opening of Allyson’s fantastic new show at Charlotte street.

Alyson was over from Brisbane with her artist husband, Scott Whitaker, and their two children, Lilly and Ollie to sign copies of her limited edition book,  from soil and stone - 50 copies are available and each comes with a one off ink drawing.

The exhibition combines two bodies of work, Moths and Score For Imagined Sound.

Reknowned art critic, Daniel Mafe, describes the series of works as “a richly contrasting body of work – a two part melody. As a whole and in its subtle and evocative way, it sings of joy, life and death, light and dark, abundance, difference and variegation; all is accepted.”

The show continues until Saturday 28 January.

Allyson Reynolds brilliant new book is the perfect reference for her brand new exhibition, Moth Song.
